Unchartered territory

The most imprudent part of me wants to know. Why do I scare you so? I am just a clawless kitten, a wide eyed squirrel running after nuts, harmless, almost meek (God bless the meek, they say). The most impudent part of me longs to learn. Where does all this fear come from? I can't sail the ocean in a starless sky. I can't see through thick walls meant to hide. I can't go by myself in unknown streets, no directions, no signs, no guides. I'd certainly get lost, and I am not bold, nor smart enough to put together half words, feelings half given, and make any sense out of them. I crave by nature for the gift of wholeness. I bring no danger.
